A PhD position (three years contact) is available at ISTerre laboratory in Grenoble. This position will be co-supervised by Guillaume Morard, David Cebron and Renaud Deguen at ISTerre, and in close collaboration with ESRF (Angelika Rosa, Raffaella Torchio, Olivier Mathon) and IPAG (Xavier Delfosse, Philippe Delorme, Mickael Bonnefoy).
Expected starting date is 1st of October 2020. Deadline for application is late August 2020.
The present project aims at developing a new approach, coupling finite-element modeling and fast heating in Laser-Heated Diamond Anvil Cell to overcome experimental limitations and better constrain melting relations for silicates under high pressure. The petrological outputs will be then integrated into magma ocean crystallization models, but also applied to astrophysical observables for young telluric exoplanets. More details can be found here :
